A quick hello here...And a giveaway winner!

Pin It                Where did the last couple of days go? Didn't even notice that the weekend is almost over! I had lots of cleaning yesterday, an open house for a good friend, a Church brunch that I needed to make two breakfast casseroles for and dinner with my best friend and her husband tonight. Busy, busy, busy...

It's been snowing heavily here too. Winter might finally be heading our way. I don't mind some snow for Christmas but it could wait for another two weeks... Don't have any pictures to show because it's just too dark outside. So instead I have a picture of a classic Russian dessert that I made for my friend's open house and to take with us tomorrow to my sister. It's called "Nuts" and they are not hard to make but you do need a special form to bake them in ( like this one). Almost every household back in Russia has this kind of form. So my Mom thought I needed one too, and I can't agree more :) I filled my "nuts" with some Dulce De Leche cream:

And the cute picture of the day of my boys (don't ask me why they hold this hanger...I HAVE NO IDEA):

And I wanted to thank everyone who entered my giveaway for the Macy's gift card. I was amazed to see how many of you entered! Thank you! And I want to welcome all of my new followers. I do hope you will come back again.

The winner was chosen by random.org. And congratulations go to:

Entry #75 Luda P.

Thank you all again for entering. The winner was contacted by e-mail.

Have a good night, my friends!

    1. Oh Carol, it's a simple shortbread cookie recipe. And for a cream I beat together a can of Dulce De Leche and a stick of butter. It's really simple but you do have to have a form, that's why I didn't share a recipe!

  3. are they like a cookie then? I have a couple of cookie recipes on my blog today.

Super photo of the little ones. You need to keep this one for when they are teenagers to remind you how little they once were.

  4. Thanks for the delicious 'nuts'. Zach has asked to have one for every snack since you came! (yes, the kids are still going to Entheos - the 3 youngest will probably finish out the year)

Love the picture of your two boys. So cute - and I can't wait to see the new carpet. It looks so beautiful in the picture.

  5. Hope you don't have to go out into the snow. It's nice when you can stay inside and just look out the window, but not so nice if you have to get somewhere. We've only had a few flakes so far.

  6. It was fun talking to you the other night. I would've tasted your nut cookies if I'd known you made them. I'm trying not to eat too many desserts. The carpet looks great. Did the boys fall asleep like that?
