First, I wanted to thank everyone who stopped by here yesterday with some support and ideas about this blog. I really appreciate it and I plan on exploring all the possibilities in the upcoming week. Thank you!
Dear Carla mentioned another great challenge going on and I decided to join her and some other lovely people:
The idea of the challenge is to simply get rid of 100 things before December 15th. I've been de-cluttering this whole year and got rid of more than 300 things in the last 9 months. But I still have plenty of stuff that needs to go. So I decided to join this challenge. It will help me to reach my 2012 goal and more.
I started today and threw away:
2 Kid's T-shirts - one that is covered with "dots" from my unfortunate laundry+crayon experience, and one that is just too old to even be donated. By the way, I tried everything possible on those sheets and some clothes but nothing helped. But I did find a wrapper from a brown crayon, so no doubt it was the offender. Lesson learned (never allow kids to color pictures on your bed when you try to do the laundry...)
3 ALL YOU magazines (from last year)- recycled
2 boxes full of paper (mostly Hubby's school papers)- destroyed or recycled.
93 more things to go. I do know that I will "cheat" and finally get rid of all of the empty spray paint bottles in our garage next week...
Are you up for a de-cluttering challenge? Do you have a particular place/room in your house that really needs to be cleared out, preferably before the holidays?
Thanks for the reminder, Lena. I too am up for the challenge. I had thought after Christmas would be the best, but what the "heck" no time better then the present. I have a whole bag put aside for my cousin right now. Just need to start counting when I start pitching things, right?
ReplyDeleteThat's what I think too- no time better than present:) I have a growing bag of stuff that needs to be donated this week! I think we can do it!!
DeleteI don't know about where you live, but I just figured out that around here, we can recycle old clothes and such. They use the cloth. Now I've started to do that with ones that aren't good enough to give away.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of it before! That would be awesome if we had a place to recycle clothes somewhere here. I need to look into it! Thanks for the info!
DeleteI really need to do this!
ReplyDeleteCome on board:)
DeleteOh I should really get on board with this, my closet needs some de-cluttering!
ReplyDeleteBe sure to join:) I cleaned my closet in summer but my garage really needs some de-cluttering!
DeleteI'm not keeping track, but I'm sure that by the time I am done packing, I will easily have surpassed 100!
ReplyDeleteI bet you will:)
DeleteI am a February decluttering type of gal........do my best work then!!!
