Twenty ways in 20 days, day 12. Patience...

I just realized that I never posted about my challenge yesterday! Sorry about that!!

Last night my 6-year old was playing with our puppy. He threw a toy up in the air and knocked off one of my favorite vases that we got from our trip to Arizona last year:

Sigh...Those of you who know me personally, know that I'm a very impatient person. I want it all and now! But, especially in the last few weeks, my patience has really been challenged. I certainly learn new levels of it that I didn't know I was capable of.

Patience is one of my husband's biggest virtues (they say, that people in a couple should complement each other, right? :) And now I learn a lot from him!

Yesterday, when I was looking in the wet eyes of my terrified boy, I knew that there is so much more in life than some broken vases. And that family comes first!

So I gave him a big hug and told him he's going to clean a bathroom for a week...Just kidding :)

What made you happy yesterday?

  1. That was a moment of grace! I am very impatient too...which didn't help when my kids were little. And the thing that broke the most was pasta dishes, which I so loved. (I would be out, come home, and find a broken pasta dish, twice!...my husband was watching the kids..I think he broke one actually..ha.) Well...after a decade...I got totally over it. Ha...sad to say...I'm that bad!

    1. Yea, it might take me a decade or so to completely go over the fact that he broke my vase :) It helps him that he's so cute :)

  2. Kids, gotta love them and all the "oops" that come with them.

Happy happy yesterday. I went to acupuncture yesterday. I had a free visit coming and I hadn't been there in so long. I feel so good, always wonder why I wait so long :)

  3. Aww. :) I'm overly patient (MOST of the time, there's that 1% of the time where I'm not) and my husband is the complete opposite.

Of course he's the one always on time (early in fact) and I'm the one who's always late (which of course tries his patience, hahaha).

    1. :) Most of the time, I'm early everywhere too :) Honestly, I'm pretty patient with kids but not as much with life in general :)

  4. Way to work on your patience! Mine is not my virtue at all and my husband totally has it in spades, I think you are right about couples fitting each other!

  5. Moments like those speak far more than any amount of words. Sorry about the vase, but thanks for putting a positive spin on it.

    1. I'm still pretty upset about my vase but I'm not going to dwell on it. Other things are way more important in life!

  7. I was happy yesterday when I had a nice long conversation with my son about his job. It's his first real job, so I'm very interested in it.
