That's how I blow our budget...

Pin It    I went shopping again today :( I really need to stay away from the stores. I went to a bunch of stores looking for a new comforter for our master bedroom. We are trying to lighten up our room and the comforter was already in our budget. Kind of. I'm looking for a plain white one but I'm not willing to spend more then $40 for it. We will actually use it as a bed spread so we don't need a fancy quality. Anyway, I went to the bigger stores (aka Kohls, JC Penney) but their prices are way too high for my modest budget. Then I went to Ross and TJ Maxx but did not find anything good. And then I went to Down East Basic outlet...I still didn't find a comforter but they had a clothing sale...And I added to our already blown budget:

These are my favorite layering shirts and I just couldn't pass on the deal. They were only $3 each!!! Look at this pretty lace on the bottom!!

   Total spent (w/tax) for all 4 shirts - $12.27
Total before sale (without tax) - $47.96!!

I'm not naked and I didn't really need new shirts right now but these are pretty much the only T-shirts I like and I would buy them later anyway but for the full price. And even though we blew our budget for clothes this month, honestly, we would've blown it anyway. The problem is that we regularly plan $50 a month and this month we did the same but I completely forgot about back-to-school shopping!! We are only about $20 over and I think I scored some great deals. On the other hand we almost grabbed a pizza today for lunch because I didn't have anything cooked but instead we chose to wait for extra 15 minutes and found some food in the fridge at home ( made tortillas filled with cheese and a salad). And that's at least $7 savings if we chose the cheapest pizza!

Did you get any good deals lately?

    1. That's how I feel too about budgeting! I know I will use these shirts for a long time, and I saved a lot of money that I would spend in a few months anyway.

  4. That's too bad that you couldn't find a comforter cover. I got mine for $8 at Down East Home Outlet, but it's probably one of those 'timing is everything' things. Great deal on the shirts. I can never find my size in the colors I like.
