The Inspire Me Sundays...Count your blessings!

Yesterday Hubby and I had a long conversation about finding balance in our lives. There are so many things happening that need our attention, lots of unfinished projects that need to be finished, colds, getting ready for winter and on top of that all kinds of financial headaches.

It's so easy to feel tired and overwhelmed. And then today I heard this:

"Take inventory of your life and look for all your blessings, big or small..."
                                               (Thomas S. Monson)

You know how much I like making lists. So as soon as I heard it I sat down and started writing. Within 15 minutes I jotted down 60 things and this list goes on and on... It might just be the most important list I've ever made. It reminded me that even though life is not always easy, there are so many many many things to be thankful for.

I wrote down things that are obvious like my family, faith, freedom but I'm also thankful for things we often take for granted like heat or clean water, or the ability to read, or the ability to walk. So often we forget how truly amazing and blessed we are!

If you feel overwhelmed or upset, go create your own list. You'll see that life can be green on your side too!

  1. you're right we have a lot to be thankful for, and it's Thanksgiving, here in Canada this weekend.

  2. We should all take stock often of all we have to be thankful for.

  3. This is a beautiful post. I am going to make a list of my blessing and then arrange them into a photo frame as a constant reminder not just for myself but anyone who looks at it.
    Thank you

  4. This is such a sweet and lovely reminder. When we were kids, we all had to go around and say something we were grateful for before bed. Then, who ever was saying our evening family prayer was supposed to thank God for each and every thing that was said. It was a good way for us to reflect on our blessings daily!
