The certificate was enough for two large pizzas. So we got one for Hubby's Mom and the kids, and one for us. We got a gourmet BBQ chicken-bacon-pineapple, and it was SO GOOD we almost ate it all right away...But we restrained ourselves and brought a few pieces home:
We grabbed a blanket and went to a local park. I also purchased two books from a series "Do you know your...?" a few months ago from Amazon. There were $5.95 a piece, and it was a blast! We had so much fun answering questions about each other, and there were a few things I didn't know about my husband :) We played for an hour, and we still have about half of each book left:
My cute date caught in the moment :)
So there might be another date coming very soon. This time on a backyard, maybe? What is your idea for a fun and inexpensive date?
What a great time you both seemed to be having ! and that yummy looking Pizza. WE all need to get out for a date from time to time. Occasionally Hubby & I will treat ourselves to our fav Chinese Restaurant. I am hoping we will be able to go for a Day Trip on the Explore the Adventure Passport again this year, if the Crabby Cabbie Business lets us ... *sigh* business as usual otherwise, dear Lena.
ReplyDeleteYou should! Or doing something small or impromptu. Those dates can be fun too!
DeleteAww, you are such a sweet couple!! Date nights are a must!! Without the marriage there is no family, your boys are blessed to have you both.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so nice of you to say! I agree that date nights are a must!
DeleteThose books sound like a fun. What a great date.
ReplyDeleteThey are so much fun! Some questions are pretty tricky :)
DeleteWhat a GREAT idea, Lena!! I love the preplanned date idea! That just takes the stress out of the whole thing, and you can focus on each other.
ReplyDeleteIt does! I was just a little bit tired of doing same old, same old. And when I was working on this gift it made me think of a variety of ideas!
DeleteLooks like a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt was!
DeleteHow lovely Lena.....that pizza looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteOh, it was so good!
DeleteI SO love your pre-planned dates!! Just awesome! The pizza looks sooo good! Yum! :)
ReplyDelete:) I do too!
ReplyDeleteThose books look like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteOur kids are older now, so we don't have to worry about babysitting. However, when they were younger, we part of a babysitting co-op. It was based on coupons and worked great. Most of our dates were on Saturday afternoon when the movies and restaurants were cheaper than in the evening. Sometimes we just stayed home and took the kids to someone else's house from the co-op. Also, I was always scouring the newspaper for free or low cost events.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea! That is what I call quiet fun. :-)
ReplyDeleteAmanda :-)
