Our date.

Pin It      I promised to tell you about our date in June. Some of you may remember that I gave Hubby 12 pre-planned dates this Christmas. For a month of June I purchased a certificate for a local pizzeria for half the  price from one of those daily deals websites (was it Groupon?...). We had a lot going and almost skipped our date all together. But my amazing MIL offered to babysit for us last Saturday so we could enjoy couple of hours away from the kids. So here is what we did:

The certificate was enough for two large pizzas. So we got one for Hubby's Mom and the kids, and one for us. We got a gourmet BBQ chicken-bacon-pineapple, and it was SO GOOD we almost ate it all right away...But we restrained ourselves and brought a few pieces home:

We grabbed a blanket and went to a local park. I also purchased two books from a series "Do you know your...?" a few months ago from Amazon. There were $5.95 a piece, and it was a blast! We had so much fun answering questions about each other, and there were a few things I didn't know about my husband :) We played for an hour, and we still have about half of each book left:

My cute date caught in the moment :)

So there might be another date coming very soon. This time on a backyard, maybe? What is your idea for a fun and inexpensive date?

  1. What a great time you both seemed to be having ! and that yummy looking Pizza. WE all need to get out for a date from time to time. Occasionally Hubby & I will treat ourselves to our fav Chinese Restaurant. I am hoping we will be able to go for a Day Trip on the Explore the Adventure Passport again this year, if the Crabby Cabbie Business lets us ... *sigh* business as usual otherwise, dear Lena.

  8. Our kids are older now, so we don't have to worry about babysitting. However, when they were younger, we part of a babysitting co-op. It was based on coupons and worked great. Most of our dates were on Saturday afternoon when the movies and restaurants were cheaper than in the evening. Sometimes we just stayed home and took the kids to someone else's house from the co-op. Also, I was always scouring the newspaper for free or low cost events.
