Wow, we are getting so close to Christmas, it's scary! December really flies by. I have very mixed feelings about it. I love Christmas and decorating for the holidays and gifts and all the fun, and extra time with the family. But, on the other hand, I'm ready for this year to go and I'm ready to start with a clean slate yet again. Next year will be a little harder financially for us. Our mortgage, health insurance and pretty much everything else goes up except for our salaries, so we will have to adjust. On the other hand, we don't want to put our life on hold either, everything will just take some extra planning and deal hunting.
But there is still another two weeks before I will have to deal with all the changes. Until than we still need to stay afloat and enjoy our time together.
So today I want to announce the winners of the Firmoo giveaway first. I want to congratulate:
All the winners were notified by e-mail. Thank you everyone who participated!
And now to food waste. We didn't throw away much. I had half a zucchini that never made it to anything and went bad. I thought that would be it until I checked the dressings in our fridge door and realized that two of them expired...well, in June and July...:
We eat tons of salad in our house. But the problem is all my three boys like Ranch the most. And I like other dressings too. But unfortunately, I rarely finish them before they expire. I need to start using them in cooking more but I really don't know what to do with the poppyseed kind. Any ideas?
And this week we are eating:
Mon. - leftovers
Tues.- eating out with a friend from Russia
Wed.- scalloped potatoes, meatballs, mixed veggies
Thurs.- pasta with salad
Sat.- breakfast for dinner, whatever we find in the fridge :)
Sun- soup with homemade bread, any leftovers
Are you eating anything yummy this week? What about next week - planning anything special for Christmas?
