Literally. As I was coming from the Church a couple of weeks ago, I was thinking about what I wanted to do today as part of my challenge when I noticed this:
This year my rose bush just exploded! We planted it last year, and we are yet to trim it. But as I was looking at it, I was thinking about life's little pleasures. Like smelling the roses...
This bush is a kind of like me: a little on the wild side but with a soft and delicate scent:) And today that's what makes me happy: the beauty that comes free and cannot be compared with anything made by people. It's simple yet beautiful and smells oh, so good!!
So how was your first day?? What made you happy today?
I was happy today when I got a call from my son who is at college. Short and sweet, but it made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fabulous picture of you! And your roses! Ours are up too; and my oldest picked me one just yesterday to put in a vase. What a lovely introduction to a new month and your delightful challenge!
ReplyDeleteI could write a list just as long as this page with the things I am thankful for but the first that come to mind are, my family, my home, my little dog, my health, fresh vegetables, freedom, the list goes on and on with me as I know it does with you. Marie
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Thank you for shoring your list, Marie :)
DeleteOops. Seems I missed the intro to 20 days. What made me happy yesterday was having some awesome quiet me time. I actually ate at a dinning room table with music on one side, and a book on audio-read on the other side. No rush, no worrying that I was gonna be overheard or disturbed. It was great! Love that last photo.
ReplyDeleteThat is nice! Especially with gorgeous new view from the window :)
DeleteI absolutely LOVE that photo of you & the rose. I was happy that I got to see my sister for the first time in 6 years. xx
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! It would be hard not to see my sister for so long!!
DeleteYou made me happy today! Your picture! I wish I was there to hug you!
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! You are just so sweet :)
DeleteDay 1: After-dinner walk with my family. I LOVE doing this, especially in the long summer evenings.
ReplyDeleteDay 2: Sat and admired the new wood floors my husband has been laying in our new home.
Nan
You are doing great, Nan! I miss walks with my husband. When we do it with kiddos (with all the roller blades, scooters and bikes), it's just not the same :) But I love those too :)
DeleteAnd getting new floors is awesome!!
Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful photo of you!!! Today I was happy and thankful for homemade bread that turned out just fine since the yeast never did foam up!
ReplyDeleteMmm...homemade bread! A perfect happy moment :) I made some over the weekend too. I wish it would last longer :)
