Call me crazy... but I marked off the first thing on my Christmas list :)

In the past couple of days the weather has been in triple digits here... So, so hot!!! But ever since I saw this pin on Pinterest, I knew I had to make this jam. I've been drooling over it for the past couple of weeks.

I knew I had a bag of cranberries that I bought last year in my freezer. I don't even remember why I got them. I think, I wanted to make cranberry sauce from scratch. I don't know...

But it seemed like the perfect recipe to use them up. So here I went...

And an hour later...

I made 14 4 oz. cans and a couple of half pints. I also have another half a pint for us to enjoy right now. And it is pretty enjoyable! Yum!! I used 1 less pound of sugar than the recipe asked for and, honestly, I think, I could even cut it down to 3-3.5 lbs. I also added 2 TB freshly squeezed lemon juice. Delish!

The smaller jars will become Christmas gifts for neighbors and friends. Yes, I have officially started working on my list :)

And call me crazy - since I already feel as if I just ran a marathon in this heat - but I want to can more :) You know I'm addicted to a pantry full of delicious preserved stuff...

Hmm, what's next? Maybe, some cherries

  1. Go You!!!! I love to can too. Your friends are going to so love those beautiful jars of love come Christmas time

  2. Haha- You are crazy! Just Kidding!!! I think that is awesome! What a nice gift to give for Christmas! This jam sounds delicious! And High Five to you for already marking a bunch of gifts off your list- what a great start! :)

  3. That's great you have something crossed off your Christmas list! Jam will be a great gift too.

  4. You might be kind of busy in December, so Christmas in July seems about right.

  5. A great idea to start early. I've also been thinking about Christmas recently and what to put on the lists so I can tick them off as I make them or buy them in sales.

  6. Crazy! Crazy like a fox.

    Great job, it looks delish!
